I’m excited about teaching again at the McConnell Arts Center in Worthington! The facilities are great, the the staff is very supportive of artists’ individual teaching methods. Last spring, the staff was very flexible and set up an outdoor spray paint area for the class, we had a great time!

These are photos from my third Mixed Media workshop at the McConnell Arts Center in Worthington. We decided to do a 2-day weekend immersive workshop to enable more people to participate. It was open to adults of all skill levels, and it was great sharing new techniques that I’ve learned as well as empowering other artists to experiment in a safe environment. The workshop was solid out, contact the McConnell Arts Center to be notified when the next workshop is scheduled: (614) 431-0329.

I’m excited about teaching a 1-week workshop at the Cultural Arts Center in June. It will be an immersive experience, with demos of many different techniques and support to carry pieces from beginning experimentation and concept, through the “messy middle,” to resolution.

I’m enjoying teaching the second “Explore Mixed Media Collage Painting” workshop at McConnell Arts Center. We met for six Sundays, from 2-5pm, from April 14 through May 19, 2013. The workshop demos built from each week, showing how a piece can be created starting from background, to midground, to foregrounds and finishing.

Artist Resource: Printable Magnet SheetsPosted Jan 12, 2013Tagged Artist Resources, Recent Posts
After deciding that Magnets would work better than the velcro board to demonstrate the different artwork configurations that I had used at my first exhibit for Modular Mixed Media, the challenge was trying to find a high-quality magnet surface that would show the artwork detail, be matt, and thick to feel high-quality and hold up to handling.
I found Magnet Valley after Googling “Magnet Inkjet.”
I was very happy with the thickness of the material, and the high-quality printing, as well as how quickly I got my order (I promised the company’s owner I would promote her small business if the magnets worked out well!) I was able to closely match the actual colors of the original artwork. The interactive Modular Art Magnet displays were very popular at the exhibit.
